AP exams are scored on a 1 to 5 scale, with most colleges giving credit for a score of 3 or higher. The format of each exam depends on the subject but usually includes:
Test knowledge of key concepts
Require written answers or problem-solving
Some AP exams, like AP Studio Art and AP Research, require portfolios or presentations instead of traditional tests
